Farmers left Syntagma on their tractors. The departure took place in parts and in a coordinated manner, according to the police plan, and those who arrived in Athens by bus left last night.
In the center of Athens, only the farmers of Almiros (μπλόκο του Αλμυρού) remained, that is, about 20 tractors. Although they, after a while, began to leave the city center around 11:30 am on Wednesday, February 21.
Farmers follow the route they arrived yesterday: st. Panepistimiou – Omonia Square – st. Agios Konstantinou – Karaiskaki Square – Achilleos – Athinas – Kifisos Avenue.
At about 12:00 it was announced that the avenues of you. Amalias, Vas. Sophias and Panepistimiou Street are open to traffic, and the bypass route (on the rise of Singrou Avenue to Kallirois Street) has been cancelled.
The traffic regulations in force due to the passage of tractors in Agios Konstantinos around Omonia Square and Karaiskaki Square, on Achilleos and Athinas Avenue have been lifted.
Farmers are going to hold general meetings today and tomorrow to decide what to do next. As Rizos Maroudas, a member of the coordination committee of the protesters, told ERT yesterday, either there will be road blocking again, or farmers will move on to other forms of mobilization.
