Metropolitan of Kalavryta: the law on gay couples is the path to the legalization of bestiality and euthanasia

Metropolitan Jerome of Kalavryta of the Greek Orthodox Church believes that the legalization of gay marriage in Greece opens the way to the legalization of bestiality and euthanasia.

This was reported by orthodoxia.info. “Our prayer is the greatest weapon we have to be able to drive out the devil. Through prayer we humbly seek from God the grace that sanctifies the world, changes it and gives it the ability to withstand everything that wicked people use.”– noted Metropolitan Jerome of Kalavritana, who held a holy vigil in the Metropolitan Church of Faneromeni in Aigio in connection with the vote on the bill on “marriage of same-sex couples” and “adoption of children by same-sex couples”.

“The passage of this bill opens the door to other bills that will legalize bestiality, euthanasia and will become the harbingers of the creation of global governance that political systems are talking about today. But we should not be afraid, because we have the great gift of our faith, and through this faith in Christ, renewing it daily through holy orders, through pious life and through the sacrament of the Eucharist, we gain a reliable shield that the arrows of the evil one cannot pierce.”he added.

“We are “a sign of wrangling” for all those who seek to change, de-Israelize and de-Christianize the world. But they do not know that our Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. For two thousand years now they have been trying to make sure that the name of our dear Jesus does not exist. We believe in God and renew this faith during the Mass, and in this way we become strong, and they cannot turn us away from what we believe in, and cannot change it. So now we are all in God’s hands, and history will write about everyone who passed through this world, what good they did and what they didn’t do.”

The Metropolitan added: “When I was asked how we would treat members of parliament who voted for the bill, I replied that we would treat them with the same love with which we treat every human being. But I wonder how they will look at us in the eyes? After all, what they are doing, they have not yet understood. They think that it is something transitory. But they go against the law of God, against the teachings of Christ and against the Gospel.”

In conclusion he said: “We become a laughing stock, we are insulted, accused, called homophobes, backwards and obscurantists, thinking that they are progressives. Let them stay with their progress, which will lead them to death and destruction, and we will stay with Christ. These are difficult times. We We must unite in the confession of Christ and teach it to new generations in our children.”

Literally a few hierarchs The Greek Church was not afraid to voice its opinion about this law, unlike Afonites, who all opposed this law.
