Human trafficking network dismantled: 46-year-old victim of sexual exploitation released

In real hell lived a 46-year-old German woman who, after spending a month “imprisoned” in a Greek house in Germany, was transported to Greece, where she was forced to provide erotic services in brothels in Athens and Thessaly.

The pimps took away all the income from illegal activities from the victim. After the woman managed to “escape the clutches” of cruel criminals, she contacted the police.

As a result of an investigation carried out by employees of the anti-trafficking department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, the details of the persons involved in the case were identified. These are eight people (men and women), and the leading role in the case materials is given to a 41-year-old man who was already serving a sentence in Greek prisons in a human trafficking case. His relatives also appear in the case materials.

The woman’s “nightmare” began in April 2020, when a repeat offender contacted her by phone and threatened her to go to his relatives’ house, located in one of the regions of Germany. There, the woman was held against her will for a month under constant guard, and then flown to Athens, where she was handed over to an accomplice, who, she alleged, raped her and forced her to meet clients every day. The man’s relatives controlled the income from erotic services.

According to the same case, the victim of sexual exploitation was later transported to the Thessaly region, where he was also forced to “accept clients” using threats and physical violence. Sexual dates were arranged through online advertisements by a group of criminals and took place in various apartments. One of the members of the criminal group took her mobile phone and, posing as the victim, demanded and received various amounts of money from her friend.

The materials of the case initiated against eight persons were transferred to the competent authorities.
