For coffee lovers: what time is recommended to drink it?

Do we all start our day with coffee and drink an invigorating drink at the same time? What do experts say about whether it’s the same thing – drinking your first cup of coffee at 7-8 in the morning or, say, at 11? Scientists, based on research data, have told us when is the best time to drink coffee and why.

The AsapScience team did a thorough research and found out all the details. The production of cortisol, also known as the “stress hormone”, is associated with how the body naturally wakes up in the morning, and usually peaks between 8:00 and 9:00, which is when most people drink coffee.

Cortisol again reaches high levels between 12:00 and 13:00 and 17:30 and 18:30. And according to AsapScience, if you drink coffee during these hours, you reduce the effects of caffeine on the body.
