Municipal workers of the Riga Ferreu district (Rizomilo, Magnesia) were stunned by the sight of a hand grenade they found on the morning of Friday 5/01.
In particular, workers were in Risomilo to remove the rubble of a brick wall that had collapsed the day before and discovered a grenade. The location is reported to be next to a rural primary school.
The workers reported to the police. Fire brigade and Volos Environmental Protection Agency personnel rushed to the scene. The area was cordoned off. Later, officers from the engineer demining battalion (sappers) arrived and disarmed the World War II grenade.
