Traffic on Parnitos Avenue from the cable car heights in both directions was suspended due to snowfall.
The air temperature dropped to -3°C, and the snow depth is about 12 centimeters. Facebook posts note that the Buffy and Flambury High Mountain Shelters will be open until 9 p.m. today.
Today, according to the EMY forecast, severe frosts will occur in most regions of the country, the air temperature will be close to 0°C or minus. Throughout the country, temperatures will drop by 2-4 degrees. In the north and central regions, the air temperature will range from -05°C to -06°C, on the rest of the mainland – from -02 to -10°C, and on the islands from +04 to +12-14°C.
Snowfall is also expected in the low mountain areas of Chalkidiki, Thessaly (Magnesia), central mainland Greece (Euritania, Phthiotis, Phocis and Boeotia), as well as in the highlands and foothills of Evia, Eastern Peloponnese. According to the weather service, a new wave of bad weather that began yesterday and hit the country with snow, strong winds and storms will last until noon today, 13/01.
