In the southern suburbs of Athens, in the Vari district, an elderly couple was brutally robbed. A 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman were returning home at about 11 p.m. when they were attacked by robbers.
At gunpoint, the two criminals tied the victims’ hands and then forced them into the apartment, from where, according to the couple, they took jewelry worth 30,000 euros, as well as other valuables.
After this, the robbers fled, and the couple managed to free themselves by cutting the tape with which they were tied with a knife. Soon the victims reported the attack on them to the police. The local police department is investigating the case.
