"Tourism for everyone": decision on holiday voucher worth up to 400 euros published

The Greek Government Gazette published the decision (ΦΕΚ) on the social tourism program “Tourism for All”, within which vacation packages costing up to 400 euros.

The goal of the program is to increase demand for domestic tourism by subsidizing accommodation services for beneficiaries for recreation in the country.

Amount of assistance

According to the decision, within the framework of the program, after submitting an online application and being selected by lottery, the following financial assistance is provided:

• Amount of 200 euros to individuals meeting the specified conditions.
• Amount of 300 euros to individuals meeting the established criteria:
  • For singles or widows with dependent children, based on the latest updated personal income tax return for 2022 at the time of filing the application,
  • married or in cohabitation with three or more dependent children, based on the most recently filed joint or separate income tax return for individuals for 2022.
  • Pensioners of all funds who have a final decision on the assignment of an old-age pension before December 31, 2022, who meet the specified conditions.
• An amount of 400 euros specifically for disabled people with a valid decision on the general level of disability of 67% or more at the time of filing the application, as well as for beneficiaries with disabled children with a valid decision on the general level of disability of 67% or more at the time of filing the application.

It is worth noting that if the beneficiary meets the requirements of more than one of the above categories, his application will be classified in the category with the maximum subsidy amount. The above amounts apply only to the recipient himself and do not increase if he has dependents.

The financial amount for the holiday (winter or summer) will be credited to the recipient on a digital debit card issued specifically for this purpose by a credit institution or financial institution. The intangible card is valid until December 31, 2024, that is, until the end date of the second cycle of the Tourism for All 2024 program.

Income criteria

The income criteria for everyone to apply are determined as follows:

INDIVIDUALS (INDIVIDUALS OR WIDOWS) FAMILY (GRANDCHILDREN AND PARTNERS)

• WITHOUT CHILDREN 19.000 – 31.000
• WITH 1 CHILD 20.500 – 32.500
• WITH 2 CHILDREN 22.000 – 34.000
• WITH 3 CHILDREN 24.000 – 36.000
• WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF CHILDREN 29.000 – 41.000

Potential beneficiaries are those who filed their final personal income tax return by the filing deadline for the 2022 tax year. The Ministry of Tourism is expected to announce dates for submitting applications for participation in the program in the near future.

Who is excluded from the program

Those who were selected as beneficiaries under the Social Tourism 2024 program are not considered beneficiaries of the second cycle of the Tourism for All 2024 program DYPAregardless of whether they took advantage of the benefit or not.
