The government failed in the fight against crime: 3 ministers were replaced in 6 months

The reshuffle in the government just six months after its first composition clearly shows that, despite its political dominance, many failures can be noted already in its second term.

Simply put, this means that if there was serious opposition, ND would be in serious trouble. However, this could all change depending on the outcome of the European elections in June 2024. The image of the government after 6 months is tragic, but where it literally collapsed was in the field of law and order, and therefore in six months the government replaced 3 ministers of civil defense!

And even better – another minister, who was also called “losers”but in the end he had so many years in this post under the governments of PASOK and ND that he became a kind of “national sheriff”. Let us recall that Notis Mitarakis was fired by the government because during the period of fires he went on vacation to Chios for several days, although he did not have any authority to eliminate them (this entirely belongs to the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Defense V. Kikilias).

He was replaced by Yiannis Ikonomou, who until yesterday, judging by what happened, was perhaps the most ineffective minister of civil protection among those responsible for several police deaths during his tenure.

Three police deaths were, after all, why he “torn”since this creates the idea in society that they cannot even protect themselves, let alone citizens.

Michalis Chrysochoidis came as a proven solution that he has “know-how”and although he was also fired, Takis Teodorikako was brought in to take his place.

So in terms of security, the government gets the worst marks, since it has left petty crime unchecked in the center of Athens, while in areas such as Aspropyrgos and Menidi it is very doubtful that the state maintains any control.

At the same time, lax policies on the issue of immigration created a problem in local communities: the government issued residence permits to illegal immigrants to solve labor shortages, but divided voters in the South West.

Denmark’s decision to demolish all ghettos “non-Western” migrants shows that even in such a hyper-tolerant country they understood what they were facing “sinking” because of crime, and decided to take drastic measures. The question is when the Mitsotakis government will understand this.
