Not everyone had a good New Year’s Eve. As usual, there were some incidents.
On New Year’s Eve, the Thessaloniki Traffic Department recorded more than 800 traffic violations by car owners. The inspections were carried out as part of inspections to reduce road accidents and ensure the quality of life of citizens. A total of 815 violations were confirmed. 531 of them relate to violations speed limit and unspecified amount – drunk driving. According to the identified violations, police officers issued fines, confiscated driver’s licenses, and removed license plates.
According to the Traffic Directorate, inspections will continue throughout the year on all road networks in Thessaloniki prefecture.
