New weather front – with precipitation, storms, gusty winds up to 9 Beaufort points

Before Storm Bettina had time to subside, a strong barometric minimum, coming from northwest Europe and moving to the southeast, caused a new wave of bad weather in Greece, which will last from Tuesday evening until Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

The weather front will bring showers, localized severe thunderstorms – mostly on Tuesday – and gusty winds. According to the available forecast data from the meteo.gr service of the National Observatory of Athens, on Wednesday 29 November the phenomena will gradually be limited to the eastern islands of the Aegean Sea, where rain and locally severe thunderstorms are expected until noon. Localized rain is forecast in the Southern and Western Peloponnese, in the west of the mainland, Epirus, the Cyclades Islands and in the early morning in the east of the mainland and South Evia.

Cloudy weather is expected in Attica on Wednesday, with a chance of light rain at midday. Temperatures will range from 12 to 19°C. The wind will blow from the southwest, from light to almost moderate, 3-4 points on the Beaufort scale, and up to 5 points in the east and south. The winds will gradually weaken from the afternoon, except in western Attica.
