Photo and video materials of abuse of children, including preschoolers, were found in the possession of an arrested 25-year-old resident of Boeotia.
During the search, the following were found and confiscated from him:
- 2 hard drives;
- 2 mobile phones;
- portable memory card;
- USB drive.
The investigation into the child pornography case was carried out by the Cybercrime Unit as part of international police cooperation, writes newsbeast.gr.
According to the message ΕΛΑΣ, the arrest was preceded by the use of information received from foreign authorities. According to it, one of the Internet users in Greece gained access to the application site and stores a number of files used for exchange with materials of sexual abuse of minors.
The collected data was submitted to the Athens prosecutor’s office. After communication with Internet providers and further police investigation, the location of the accused was discovered. During an on-site check of digital evidence, during the search, a lot of video and photographic evidence of sexual abuse of minors, from preschool to adolescence, was discovered. Based on this, the suspect was arrested.
After the initiation of the case, it is delivered to the competent prosecutor’s office and sent for main interrogation, and the seized digital evidence will be sent to the Criminal Investigation Department for examination.
