The destroyer “Βέλος”, damaged during a storm, was rescued with the help of divers: part of the stern was removed and the ship was raised.

On Sunday, a crane and diver were at the pier where the destroyer was moored to install protective balloons between the deck and the ship, which had been blown away by strong winds. A ladder was installed with the help of a crane so that the ship’s crew could descend from it, reports local website thestival.gr. Since the evening, when the ship’s ladder was torn off due to strong winds, it has been impossible to ensure supplies for the crew.
