Israel attacks a children’s hospital in the Gaza Strip

The director of the An-Nasr Children’s Hospital told the media about the bombing of the hospital by Israeli troops, as a result of which it was put out of action.

Mustafa Kahlut told Al Jazeera: “The hospital is one of the most important in the country. This is an SOS message from inside Al-Nasr Children’s Hospital. Today there were two rocket attacks on our facilities. The first was aimed at the entrance and the second at the hospital wards.”

The director further said, “There is no oxygen in the intensive care units and neonatal incubators right now. The entire hospital is without power, except for the intensive care unit where I am currently. I am currently monitoring eight patients. If the power goes out at any time, they will surely die. Al-Nasr Hospital is under Israeli targeting. A few days ago, due to the incessant bombing, the power went out for a few minutes and we lost one patient in this intensive care unit. The situation is simply terrible. We are trapped. No ambulance, no other vehicle can approach this facility.”

“Every ambulance heading to the hospital is targeted by Israeli warplanes. There is currently one casualty in the emergency room bleeding heavily. We can’t even send him to another hospital.”.

Al Nasr Children’s Hospital is considered the main central hospital providing care to young children and newborns in dire need of medical attention.

The director of Al-Rantisi and Al-Nasr Children’s Hospitals, Mustafa Al-Kahlot, reported the death of a child after oxygen supply was cut off as a result of IOF strikes and demanded the protection of the hospital, staff and patients. After Al-Nasr Children’s Hospital was bombed twice today – once at the gates and again in the medical wards, causing significant damage, the director announced a complete cessation of services in all departments except the emergency department. Oxygen and electricity were cut off from medical devices in various departments. According to the director, the situation is extremely difficult, the staff is besieged in the hospital, and ambulances cannot reach it. According to him, on the way to Al-Nasr Children’s Hospital, ambulances come under fire from the IOF, and everyone who leaves the hospital becomes victims of Israeli forces.

Every person entering or leaving the hospital becomes a target of attack. This is once again an SOS signal for the Red Cross, Red Crescent and all international organizations to act quickly to save not only the dying patients and victims remaining in the intensive care unit, but also the medical staff.”
