Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Jerome, at a meeting with professors from the University of Religions and Doctrines of Iran, called for an end to the war and the beginning of dialogue between Israel and Palestine.
During today’s meeting with Iranian professors, the Primate of the Greek Church mentioned the month-long war between Israel and Hamas, saying: “We will, of course, be asked today by our people about what we discussed. In addition to the scientific statements, we must emphasize four more points:
Stop the war and start dialogue.

And, of course, from all sides, from the front, children and civilians should not be used as provocateurs.
And finally, the mission of all of us, in addition to scientific research, should be to persistently mediate the peace of all people, regardless of religion.”
During a meeting between the Primate of the Orthodox Church and Iranian professors, he mentioned the important history of Iran. He also noted the possibility of scientific cooperation and emphasized that this activity cannot remain only in books and research.
“Seeing the needs of the modern world, our task is how to make these theological provisions tools for people and help society.”he emphasized.
The rector of the university, in turn, thanked the archbishop for the meeting and spoke about how important the history of Greece is. He noted that it produced great scientists in all fields, mentioning ancient philosophers and modern medical scientists. He then spoke about Christianity and the interaction that exists between Muslims and Orthodox Christians, noting that Orthodox Christians are highly respected.
He then touched upon the situation in the Gaza Strip and emphasized that this is one of the sufferings of the modern world. In conclusion, he spoke about the university, training courses and research conducted there, noting that the solution to all problems is dialogue.
