Birthday grenade. Who gave a deadly gift to Zaluzhny’s assistant (video)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced the official version of the death of assistant commander-in-chief Zaluzhny Gennady Chastyakov and named the name of the “donor.” The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko made a statement last night:

“The tragedy in Chaika is beginning to acquire various information from “sources.” Therefore, I officially announce: as a result of the first-priority investigative actions, we were able to find out the first circumstances of the tragedy. Today was the birthday of the deceased Major Chastyakov. He returned home from work with gifts from his colleagues, which he began to show relatives. I received a gift box with grenades inside and began to show one of the ammunition to my son. These were new Western-style grenades.”

First, says Klimenko in official TG channel, Chastyakov’s son took the ammunition into his hands and began to twist the ring, and the father took the grenade from the child and pulled out the ring, provoking a tragic explosion:

“In the apartment, the police found 5 more such unexploded grenades. They will be sent for examination. The police found a fellow soldier who gave the fatal gift. A search has already been carried out in his office and 2 more similar grenades were seized. Primary investigative actions are ongoing. I urge you not to disseminate information. Pre-trial The investigation is ongoing, wait for the official conclusions of the investigation.”

On November 6, in the village of Chaiki near Kiev, a military man, former assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny and his close friend were killed by a grenade explosion. It was reported that an unknown device in a birthday present exploded.

Wife of deceased 39-year-old Gennady Chastyakov speaksthat the grenade was in a gift bag and exploded in the hands of her husband. He brought a package with a bottle of alcohol and gift glasses in the form of grenades, and while opening the package, an explosion occurred. His 13-year-old son was hospitalized in serious condition with lacerations. The military man’s wife and daughter were at home at the time; they were not injured.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Maryana Reva, immediately stated that he died as a result of careless handling of ammunition. But Zaluzhny, writes The publication “Country” soon actually refuted this version. He statedthat Chastyakov died from an unknown explosive device that went off in one of the gifts:

“Indescribable pain and heavy loss for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and for me personally. Today, under tragic circumstances, on my birthday, my assistant and close friend, Major Gennady Chastyakov, died in the family circle. An unknown explosive device went off in one of the gifts. Gennady left wife and four children. My deepest condolences to the family…”

According to Strana’s sources in law enforcement agencies, according to the investigation, the fatal gift was given to Chastyakov by the senior assistant to the deputy commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine A.V. Timchenko.

Journalist Andrei Tsaplienko, citing his sources in law enforcement agencies, expressed a similar version – the grenades were part of a “gift set” that was given to Chastyakov for his birthday by his colleague, Colonel Timchenko. He has already testified that he himself decided to make such a gift, putting a bottle of Black Label whiskey and 6 grenades in a wooden box.

This was confirmed by three witnesses to the presentation of the gift. Timchenko told Chastyakov: “It’s hard to surprise you, so I’m giving you military grenades and a bottle of good whiskey.” The journalist’s sources suggest that Chastyakov decided that this was a joke and the grenades were not real. And that these are not grenades, but “shot glasses of a specific shape.”

The interlocutor of the UP at the General Staff indicated that the deceased was a graduate of the Military Academy in Odessa and knew how to handle explosive devices. If we summarize the versions that are expressed regarding the death of Gennady Chastyakov, assistant commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny, then they can be divided into two groups.

The first is the official version of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko and similar media reports from anonymous sources. It says that Chastyakov was given a bottle of whiskey and live grenades in one box for his birthday. Arriving home, for some reason Chastyakov tore off the ring on the grenade, after which an explosion sounded. Why did he do this? Unofficial sources, as written above, explain this by saying that he mistook the grenades for souvenir glasses and decided to open them. But these same sources say that the colleague who gave the grenades immediately told the birthday boy that they were military. And it’s not entirely clear how one can confuse a combat grenade with a souvenir glass.

The second group of versions is that an unknown explosive device went off when Chastyakov tried to open a package with gifts or one of them, as reported, in particular, by Valery Zaluzhny. From this version it follows that the assistant to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine became a victim of a terrorist attack. Some are already hinting at a connection between the death of the assistant commander-in-chief and rumors about a conflict between Zaluzhny and Zelensky. They have already been branded by resources close to the authorities and a number of bloggers, accusing them of playing along with the Russians (who, by the way, are actively promoting this topic).
