Police officer "got burned" craving for "luxurious life"


Mountains of banknotes, demonstration firing of weapons and expensive cars – all this was recorded by colleagues who arrested the 23-year-old policeman.

The “night life” of the young peace officer was discovered by police patrolling the Sepolia area. A check they carried out on a parked car with four passengers near the Sepolion metro station led to arrests, including of their colleague, who is now accused of human trafficking, drug sales, violation of official secrets and official duties, as well as violation of laws on weapons and their storage. A 23-year-old foreigner was also arrested in this case and is accused of human trafficking and document forgery.

Just before 3 a.m. Wednesday, employees OPKE spotted a policeman along with other persons driving a vehicle in the Athens area, and during the check they found knives, a folder with documents (photos of wanted persons), service weapons and 16 rounds of ammunition.

However, the key to further developments was the young policeman’s mobile phone. When he showed his colleagues conducting the audit his Viber conversations, they immediately noticed suspicious elements.

Initially, suspicions arose photo of a pistol for sale, indicating the price. His mobile phone was subsequently confiscated. When examining the contents of the gadget, it was found that the photographs depict women, possibly in a state of captivity, photographs of women with indicated prices for the provision of sexual services, as well as photos with weapons, drugs and much more.

The policeman was taken to the GADA headquarters, where he was found to have evidence confirming the crimes committed. As a result of further investigation, initiated by the relevant decision of the District Attorney of Athens, the activities of a police officer in the above illegal acts were established.
