Explosion near the Israeli Embassy in Nicosia

An explosion occurred near the Israeli embassy in Nicosia early on Saturday, October 21, alarming Cypriot authorities.

Police forces quickly arrived at the scene of the incident, including pyrotechnicians, who discovered a metal object with a small amount of explosive 30 meters from the embassy. There was no damage as a result of the explosion.

Inside a car parked near the diplomatic institution, law enforcement officers found a 21-year-old man who was arrested. A passenger in the car and two pedestrians were also identified as suspects. A hammer and two knives were found in the car.

All four detainees writes CNN Greece, aged between 17 and 21, were taken to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) where they will be questioned.
