A few days ago, avid fisherman Spyros Mantzioris caught a huge fish in a lake located near Megapolis.
He tells local media kafeneio-megalopolis.gr: “In general, I have been fishing since childhood, both in the seas and in fresh water bodies. The other day, in a lake in Megapolis, I caught the biggest fish of my life on a fishing rod, a catfish weighing about 70 kg. It took me 40 minutes to pull him to the surface. It was another fight!
Of course, I released the fish back into its natural habitat alive, immediately after taking the photo. I usually always release them, regardless of size.
One of my wishes is to protect the lakes of our city. I always collect trash and plastic to keep things clean, and in the past I have noticed nets set by poachers that can cause a lot of damage.”
