The Russian Ministry of Defense announces an attempt to land troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Crimea

The surprise attack on Crimea was carried out by a group of Ukrainian saboteurs, whose task was to hoist the Ukrainian flag on the peninsula to show that it belonged to Ukraine.

Kyiv claims that it was successful, but, apparently, it was a symbolic action with no real content.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announces an attempt to land troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Crimea. It is reported that the group followed in the direction of Cape Tarkhankut on a high-speed military boat and three jet skis. They were hit by military aircraft, the Russian department says.

Russian telegram channels claim that 13 paratroopers were allegedly killed, but there were no fatalities on the Russian side. At the same time, the FSB of the Russian Federation reports that the commander of the sabotage group and an employee of the Ukrainian GUR (Main Intelligence Directorate) was captured by the Russians.

During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to the purpose of his mission. “One saboteur was captured. During his interview, it was established that the group’s goal was to take photos and videos of the DRG participants against the backdrop of the Ukrainian flag on the territory of the Republic of Crimea,” the FSB reported. The date of the Ukrainian raid has not been determined; according to some sources, it occurred today, according to others, the day before.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs published a video of the Ukrainian operation and tried to present it as “successful,” even saying that “we had losses, but the Russians had more.”

Ukraine announced the day before that it itself struck a Russian boat during an attempt to land Russians in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.

Sources of “Strana” in the Armed Forces of Ukraine refute the information, which was previously disseminated by a number of Russian military telegram channels, that the Ukrainian military man captured in the occupied Crimea is Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Alexander Lobas. They say that Lobas now commands a unit in a completely different direction.

Russian media also write that the captured Ukrainian soldier is not Alexander Lobas. According to them, he is indeed Private Alexander Lyubas, as he himself stated. A native of the Volyn region, he previously worked as a security guard.
