Bombs continue to fall on Russian territory

The Russian military again “lost” ammunition: a bomb fell on a village in the Krasnodar Territory, and a drone “landed” on a kindergarten near Belgorod.

About it reports edition of The Moscow Times, telling the details. The Russian attack drone “Lancet” fell on the territory of kindergarten No. 1 in the village of Oktyabrsky, Belgorod region on the morning of May 7. The drone did not explode. After evacuating 47 children and 30 employees, the security forces seized him. There were no casualties or damage.

It remains a mystery how a kamikaze drone, flying at a speed of 80–110 km/h over a distance of up to 70 km and carrying up to 3 kg of explosives, ended up on the territory of a kindergarten. Recently, Russian troops have begun to use Lancets more often to strike Ukraine. According to the developer, over the past three months these drones have been used more than 500 times, the main targets being armored vehicles and communication stations. Before this, during the two years of war, Lancets were launched across Ukraine about 1,000 times.

On the same day, May 7, a Russian plane dropped a bomb on the village of Vorontsovka in the Krasnodar Territory. She fell and exploded. No harm done. As local media write, this is the first case of an “unscheduled release” of an aerial bomb in Kuban. Although previously Kalibr cruise missiles were found in the region, apparently, they did not reach Ukraine during attacks.

Most often, Ministry of Defense aircraft drop high-explosive bombs on the Belgorod region. At the beginning of May, two such incidents occurred at once: on the 4th, a FAB-500 bomb fell on Belgorod. 7 people were injured, including a child, and more than 30 houses and 10 cars were damaged. The regional governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, also reported about the explosion, but kept silent about the cause. On May 3, FAB-250 was found near the village of Krutoy Log. There was no destruction or casualties. The ammunition was handed over to the military for destruction.

Since the beginning of spring, Russian military aircraft have dropped at least 25 aerial bombs on Russian regions, and since January there have been 33 such cases. In addition, several bombs fell on the occupied territories. The last such incident occurred on April 10: the heaviest glide bomb in the Russian Air Force's arsenal, the FAB-1500, weighing 1.5 tons, collapsed on a store in Yenakievo Donetsk region.

The Russian military began converting Soviet bombs into glide bombs last year, adding deployable wings and a satellite navigation system. Airplanes can launch them from 60–70 km from the front line, after which the shells fly to the target.
