Tinos: An 83-year-old woman fell into the sea while boarding a ship (video)

On Tinos, an 83-year-old woman fell from a ship’s ramp into the sea. The people around her were not at a loss. The injured woman says:

“The wind threw me into the water. I held the suitcase like a life preserver. I fell and went into the depths, and then rose to the surface. Luckily, I can swim.”

The woman was about to board a ship, tells newsbeast.gr, but strong winds upset her balance and she fell off the ramp. She held on to her suitcase like a life preserver so as not to drown. At some point he slipped out from under her body.

At this time there were three or four people on the ladder. One of the rescuers of the elderly passenger was about ten meters from the scene of the incident. He tells:

“I was about 10 meters behind the ship. I saw general excitement on the left side of the ramp, saw them looking into the water, and then someone shouted that it was a man overboard. I didn’t think about it at all. Five seconds later I was in the water, I didn’t even see who he was, what he was, where he was.”

Fortunately, everything ended well. After all, just two weeks ago our publication told about the tragedy when landing at the port of Piraeus: the man was not allowed on the ferry, and he drowned after falling into the sea.
