In the Egyptian resort town of Dahab, in the Gulf of Aqaba, a young tourist was attacked by a tiger shark.
According to local media reports, the injured girl and her boyfriend were on the hotel beach. While swimming in the sea, a girl was attacked by a large shark, biting off her hand. An ambulance took the unconscious tourist, whose nationality was not specified, to a hospital in Dahab.
The beach is closed to holidaymakers. Local rescuers tried to catch the shark, but so far to no avail. This is not the first incident on the Red Sea coast – in early June a young Russian died from the teeth of a sea predator in Hurghada. He came to Egypt not for vacation, but for living. The shark that killed him was almost immediately caught and gutted to remove parts of the victim’s body.
