Surveillance video captured an attempted rape of a woman in Heraklion, Crete, when an unknown assailant attacked the victim. The incident occurred on the evening of Friday, September 8.
In a video published by Creta24.gr, the criminal chases an unsuspecting girl and suddenly attacks her. He first attacked her from behind and then tried to immobilize her. The girl reacted, resisted, and the attacker fled.
Another woman made a similar complaint and the police launched an investigation (Is it possible that a serial rapist has turned up in the area?). The police zealously got down to business, and on the evening of Sunday, September 10, a suspicious person was detained. He is currently being investigated by law enforcement officials to determine whether he is the perpetrator of two attempted rapes in Heraklion in the previous 24 hours.
Two girls, 25 and 17 years old, said that the attacker retreated because they started screaming. The attacks took place in the Lakkos area.
