Threatening with a knife, the criminal stole pills and money from a pharmacy

A pharmacist at a pharmacy located in the Asvestochori district experienced moments of horror on Tuesday afternoon September 5, when a 35-year-old man burst into the trading floor and, threatening with a knife, demanded pills and money from the cash register.

According to the authorities: “Pileia-Chortiatis Police Department officials discovered and arrested a 35-year-old citizen who had previously robbed a pharmacy yesterday afternoon, carrying out pills that fall under the provisions of the Law on Addictive Substances and some amount of money. The seized drugs were returned to the pharmacist.”

In addition, early this morning, the police officers OPKE The Imatii found the 23-year-old local resident on the new peripheral road of Beoria and took him to the Pilaia-Chortiatis security department, where he was arrested. The man is accused of breaking into a car in the Pilaia area and taking from it a sum of money in the amount of 2,300 euros and personal documents of the owner of the car.

Last night, September 5, patrol officers of the White Tower police department noticed a 34-year-old foreigner calling for help. They immediately rushed to the scene and he reported the theft of a mobile phone.

The police immobilized and arrested the 48-year-old offender, who was found to have a foreigner’s mobile phone, as well as a small amount of cannabis. In the course of further investigation, it was established that the arrested person did not have documents confirming his legal stay in Greece.

In addition to the spontaneous arrests, investigations to identify those responsible for earlier theft cases brought additional indictments against several citizens.

In particular, the White Tower Security Department filed separate charges against a total of three individuals in cases of committing and attempted thefts that took place in a wide area of the city center from November 2021 to July 2022.

A typical case is that of a 59-year-old citizen who, together with his accomplice, whose details have not yet been established, posing as an employee of an electricity supply company, entered the house of an 83-year-old citizen and stole 15,000 euros.
