Market Pass 2: a new round of the program from September 15

The start of the implementation of a new round of the social food program to help citizens of Market Pass 2 is approaching.

On Friday, September 15, 2023, the application cycle for the program will open, but with some changes. In detail, Market Pass 2 applications will be submitted based on 2022 income, however tax returns are behind schedule for filing and processing.

Government officials stressed that Market Pass 1 beneficiaries do not need to submit a new application to join the new Market Pass 2 program. Since data verification will be carried out automatically. However KYA states that there is a “loophole” for old Market Pass beneficiaries.

Those who applied earlier and received either money in their account or a “digital card” do not need to apply again. However, former beneficiaries of the program can submit a new application by September 25, 2023 if they want to change the way they receive assistance or if the IBAN number of their chosen bank account has changed.

In this case, old beneficiaries who have chosen to pay a bank account with a 20% discount (because they have chosen to receive cash in their current bank account) will now be able to receive 100% by choosing a “digital card”.

Applications open on September 15th with a deadline of October 31st. Consumers can apply either through the digital platform vouchers.gov.gr or through CEP (Citizen Service Center) to receive financial support for August, September and October 2023.
