The World Health Organization is reporting a “major threat” with an 80% increase in COVID-19 infections worldwide.
In its weekly summary, WHO informs that in 28 days, from July 10 to August 6, the number of new cases of coronavirus in the world amounted to 1.5 million. However, 44% of countries, 103 out of 234, reported at least one case of the disease. The organization says the coronavirus “remains a major threat.”
The WHO announced the end of the state of emergency on May 5, 2023. The number of deaths from COVID-19 has decreased, according to the organization, by 57%.
Our publication said earlier that, according to the former Deputy Minister of Health of Greece, Mina Gaga, in the fall we will need new dose of vaccine against coronavirus. She noted:
“We are waiting for instructions from both the National Commission and the World Health Organization. I personally believe that in the fall it will be necessary to do some dose, as it should be done against influenza, which changes sub-options every year, and every autumn we make a vaccine to remember it.”
