The Ionian Islands attract many visitors every year for summer excursions due to their unique natural landscape and beautiful beaches.
Lefkada is no exception. This is an island that can be reached by road. To be on one of its beautiful beaches, all you have to do is drive your car over the Rio Antirrio bridge, the Preveza Aktio underwater tunnel or the Egnatia Odos.
ΚΤΕΛ Lefkada also runs on routes. Travel time is about five hours from Athens, and if you are in Preveza, then only 30 minutes.
The fame of Porto Katsiki beach “goes ahead” of its name, as it is considered one of the beaches in the entire Mediterranean. It is located on the southwestern side of the island, an hour from the center. As soon as you arrive here, you will be amazed by the dense vegetation and 100 stone steps. Truly, this is heaven on earth.
The coastline is paved with small pebbles, and the blue-green deep waters and cliffs that surround it certainly make it one of the most scenic swimming spots. The beach is unorganized so make sure you bring everything you need with you.
