The island of Samothraki, located very close to the neighboring country, although not particularly famous, is in the focus of the Turkish tourism market and media.
In order to promote new destinations, EOT organized a study tour for persons from the Turkish Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the municipality of Samothraki. Three members of TÜRSAB (Union of Turkish Travel Agencies), three influential people and two journalists arrived on the island.
A special program compiled by the Municipality of Samothrace in cooperation with EOT included guided tours to get to know the history, traditions, local products and the unique natural beauty of Samothrace. The participants of the trip reportedly left very positive feedback on the trip, confirming their intention to immediately create packages for Turkish tourists.
Guests from Turkey visited the Archaeological Museum and the archaeological site of Samothrace, Gria Vatra, Fonias microbrewery. In addition, a boat trip was held, with a stop at Pachia Ammos beach. Representatives of the Turkish tourism community visited the Samothraki Cultural Center in Chora and were received by Mayor Nikolaos Galathomos, Deputy Mayor for Tourism Giannis Glinias and local agencies.
