Gypsy vendetta in Chalkis after the murder of a 37-year-old man

Riots reign in the Haravgi region of Chalkis, the streets are blocked. The police sent a MAT special forces unit to the scene. The authorities put on the wanted list three gypsies accused of murder.

It all started on Saturday morning (24/6) when, shortly before 10 a.m., a 53-year-old man broke into the house of a 55-year-old man in Chalkis, hitting him on the head with an unknown object, according to lamiareport.gr. The victim of the attack reported the incident to police at noon.

In the evening of the same day, two temporary buildings in the same camp were also set on fire, which endangered not only the inhabitants of the gypsy camp, but the entire district because of the dense vegetation surrounding the gypsy settlement.

On the same day in the afternoon there was a traffic “accident” involving three minibuses with gypsies in Nea Artaki, which ended in… an accident, and everything suggests that it was deliberate!

In particular, the LamiaReport report recorded that a minibus with a 37-year-old driver, moving along the central avenue in the direction of Psakhna, rammed and collided head-on with two other minibuses moving in the opposite direction, as a result of which the driver of the minibus received serious injuries. Sadly, he died soon after from his injuries in a hospital in Chalkis and caused a new cycle of violence that followed. The man’s funeral took place on Tuesday (27/6).

The Chalcis police appear to have linked the incidents and, in cooperation with other police services that recorded other incidents, opened a manslaughter case against three Gypsies, aged 55, 27 and 24, who were allegedly traveling in two other minibuses that rammed the unfortunate minibus.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing by the Security Department of the Chalkida Police.
