Kyriakos Velopoulos, leader of the Hellenic Lisi-Greek Solution party, has threatened the media with legal action if they continue to call his party “extreme right.”
On Wednesday, Velopoulos called on the media to stop portraying his party as belonging to the “far-right ideology spectrum” and announced plans to sue.
“We strongly protest against the above arbitrary and malicious presentation of our political party as belonging to the “far right” ideology spectrum, which is a direct insult to both the reputation and, in particular, the parliamentary democratic status of our party,” Velopoulos said.
“We urge you to refrain in the future, as well as to prevent your guests from any malicious attempts to present our political party as belonging to the “far-right ideology” spectrum,” he added.
He stressed: “We declare that we will defend our legitimate rights, turning to justice and the competent authorities, for unlawful damage to the reputation and parliamentary democratic status of our party.”
