Luxury cars stolen in Germany and sold in Greece

Arrested a member of a group that took cars stolen in Germany to Greece, forged their identification numbers and sold them to unsuspecting citizens.

Luxurious car from Germany spotted in Peristeri allows authorities to identify an international network of dealers in stolen luxury cars. Yesterday afternoon, a 44-year-old member of a criminal organization was arrested and charged with aggravated theft of vehicles.

According to the police, on the evening of 06/23/2023, officers of the Attica Property Crimes Department found a car stolen from Germany in the Peristeri area and took it under surveillance.

As it was established, the car was put up for sale in a car dealership, where its owner was at the same time. The man was arrested and taken to the Main Police Department (GADA).

As it turned out as a result of the investigation, this is a transnational criminal organization that has been actively involved in the theft of luxury cars in Germany and Greece over the past two months.

Members of the organization in the evening and early morning hours, noticing parked luxury cars, and sometimes in airport parking lots, turned off the alarm, entered the salon and then stole. After a certain number of days, they would ferry the “goods” to France and Greece for further sale, thus making great financial gains.

The arrested person, as a member of a criminal organization, received the above cars and forged their identification numbers. This made cars legal. After this procedure, the cars were put up for sale.

Three cases of car theft from Germany solved. According to the investigation, the total value of the seized cars exceeds 220,000 euros.
