Civic mobilization impedes auctions for four families’ homes

Four families in Attica will keep their homes, thanks to the mobilization carried out on Wednesday morning by trade unions and organizations initiated by the trade union PAME against auctions.

Two of these four families are incomplete, and one of them has a disabled person. Dozens of activists gathered outside the building of the stock company “Intrum” in the center of Athens and demanded that the management settle the debt on such terms that the debtors could pay it off.

“The intransigence of companies is shattered by the struggle and opposition of the people,” Valsamos Sirygos said on behalf of the PAME committee against auctions. A member of the PAME commission, a member of the communist party KKE called for the continuation of the struggle.

Several other unions, municipal workers and student organizations took part in the mobilization, and later the protesting crowd moved to the offices of another fund company.
