Users flooded social media and TikTok in particular with a job posting generously offering €130,000 to replace a light bulb.
If you’ve been thinking about quitting your job lately and fantasized about changing careers, why not take on a light bulb change job and get £100,000? Unfortunately, like everything else, it sounds too good to be true. There is a catch in this particular job. You may have changed many light bulbs in your life, but none compare to this one.
A TikTok video shared by Science8888 claims you can get €130,000 to change a lamp as a Tower Lantern Changer, but despite the high salary, there is a constant “lack of people” recruiting for the job. “In fact, this is not an ordinary lamp. And not everyone can do it. This is a special job for high-altitude operations, replacing lamps on signal towers over 600 meters high. This type is different from ordinary high towers. In appearance, it consists of a metal arm – the higher the height, the thinner the arm, and there are no protective measures,” explains TikToker.

What do you need to do to become a lantern changer on the tower? Well, the first requirement is pretty obvious. You don’t have to be afraid of heights! You also need to be in good physical shape because, according to the video on TikTok, it takes about three hours to climb from the ground to the top of the 600-meter tower, and it takes six hours to get there and back.
If you’re ready, go ahead!
