The Greek police arrested a total of 142 people during the operational activities carried out from April 28 to the morning of May 2 in order to prevent offenses and fight crime.
In particular, 4,725 vehicles and 6,910 people were checked, while 142 arrests were made for various offenses, 499 arrests, 3 confiscations and 113 detentions of vehicles.
At the same time, 1364 traffic violations (παραβάσεις ΚΟΚ) and 59 violations of anti-smoking legislation were confirmed.
In Attica, the actions of law enforcement officers were concentrated, according to existing police plans, in the areas of Acharnes, Zefiri and Agia Varvara. The raids were carried out with the participation of police from the services of immediate action, DIAS, ΟΠΚΕ and others.
In these areas, 471 people and 219 vehicles were checked, 24 were detained on suspicion of criminal records, theft of electricity, causing dangerous bodily harm, smuggling and other violations (hooliganism, etc.). 73 people were also detained and 8 vehicles were stopped.
Purposeful actions of the police aimed at preventing and suppressing crime and increasing the level of security of citizens will continue.
