"golden souvlaki": the buyer was shocked when he received the check

A certain citizen decided to visit a well-known catering establishment located in the center of Patras and was quite shocked and puzzled when he was billed.

In particular, a visitor to a diner was asked to pay 6.60 euros for souvlaki, while prices in all grills in Patras for a specific product (pita / flatbread, gyros (pork), potatoes with sauce or tzatziki) do not exceed 3.80 euros .

The man, according to flamis.gr, did not believe “his eyes” and asked the employee if a mistake had been made. “Sorry, but this price is indicated on the menu,” was the short answer, and the city dweller had to pay for what he ate. Nevertheless, the frustrated customer decided to take a picture of the check and upload it to social networks.

However, the owner of the diner, quite legally, reportedly set the price, which was actually indicated on the menu. In shops outside the center, a portion of gyros (souvlaki) with triple the amount of meat, potatoes, tzatziki, tomatoes, etc. costs 6.60 euros. The journalists were not too lazy and visited another similar catering establishment located on Georgiou Square in Patras. There, a portion of gyros generally costs 8 euros (!).

Of course, in many cases the prices are more than exorbitant (the cost of food in general has increased). And since the attendance of the traditional “suvlatzidiko” (grill) has increased, the owners of the barbecue have decided A little raise prices…

And of course, as the Athenian News wrote earlier, sometimes a bill for a snack “causes an irreparable blow to the pocket” and the psyche. For example, in Mykonos, an American “ate a bite” for just … 836 euros.
