Easter table: lamb and goat for 11 euros

Today is Maundy Monday and consumers are already doing “market research” – comparing the prices of products for the Easter table.

According to the TV channel SKAI, in the market of Piraeus, the prices for mutton and goat meat, which are the main dishes of the Easter table, are 11 euros per kilogram, and 10 euros / kg for chicken.

Shop owners have already begun to prepare for a good sale of products on the eve of Easter. Citizens are interested in prices and consider the best option (how to meet the budget). Many have already made reservations for the lamb (carcass). However, grocery store traffic is expected to pick up significantly from Monday to Wednesday.

On Thursday (06.04), while visiting a supermarket, the Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis, pointed out that the price of lamb and goat meat is 9.90 euros per kilogram after they are included in the Easter basket.

At the same time, consumers preparing to set the Easter table began looking for skewers and braziers. At the same time, their prices have risen, as the cost of the metal (and products made from it) has doubled since 2019. A simple skewer can cost from 60 to 70 euros, while a high-tech skewer can cost from 270 euros.

Coal will be 0.3-0.5 euros more expensive than in 2022 per kilogram at a price of 1.3-1.5 euros.
