To this end, the General Directorate of Industrial Infrastructure and Business Environment of the General Secretariat of Industry of the Ministry of Development, and the General Directorate of the General Directorate of State Chemistry of the Independent Directorate of State Revenue (AADE) signed a cooperation protocol.

As reported on the ministry’s website, the protocol is aimed at studying the compliance of certain types of industrial products with current national legislation and EU legislation. This collaboration includes monitoring 178 samples over two years. In particular, in the first year it is planned to test 85 samples, and in the second – 93.

The selection of categories of industrial products to be controlled is based on risk assessment and is aimed at more effective market surveillance through targeted controls on the safety and compliance of industrial products. • Footwear – leather products (sandals or sandals, belts, belts, wallets, purses, bags, gloves, etc. made of leather/leatherette/textile/eco-leather or a combination thereof) in relation to their composition, identification of leather, appropriate marking and compliance provisions of the European REACH regulation on chemical safety.
  • Lighters from a safety point of view for children.
  • Composite laminated wood, uncoated in terms of formaldehyde content.
  • Toys for children under 3 years old to control the migration of bisphenol A.
  • Computer keyboards and mice (hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment made of plastic – RoHs directive) for lead testing.

The duration of the protocol is two years, from May 2024 to April 2026, and at the end of the testing program it is planned to prepare a joint report between the two services.

The inspection program will be coordinated for the General Secretariat of Industry by the Industrial Product Safety and Compliance Directorate, and for the Main State Laboratory by the Energy Industrial and Chemical Products Directorate.

It is worth noting that many retail chains, such as the super-popular “Jambo”, Chinese “supermarkets”, etc., have been repeatedly criticized by customers for the extremely low quality of goods, as well as their safety for children.
