Two foreigners aged 33 and 51 were arrested on Friday in the center of Athens on charges of forging documents and selling for a certain amount.
After investigating information about the “trade in documents” in Victoria Square, in particular the criminal activities of a certain foreigner who produced and provided documents for legalization to other foreigners, either for their stay in Greece or so that they could travel abroad, the data were confirmed.
At noon on March 24, the police found a man in Victorias Square, with a fake passport and a certain amount of money were found and confiscated from him and in his motorcycle.
During the search that followed in the house of his accomplice, the following were found and confiscated: 3 computers, 2 tablets, a number of fake, stolen or declared lost documents from different countries (passports, residence permits, cards, etc.), equipment for their production (printers , laminators, photo cutter, etc.), as well as covers for passports of different countries and “matrices” (prototypes) of documents and seals.
The policemen who are handling the case speak of a “business” with a turnover of several thousand euros. It is significant that the “fare” for each fake ID was €3,000, and each fake passport cost €5,000. The perpetrators “advertised” forgeries, claiming that “the documents are worth the price because they are exact copies of the originals and will not be detected by security checks at international airports.”
Arrested in the case brought against them, delivered to the Prosecutor’s Office of Athens for criminal cases.
