Prostitution of minors. Three arrested

On Tuesday, a new case of sexual exploitation of teenagers was discovered, the victim of which was a 14-year-old girl living in a juvenile home in the metropolitan area of ​​Nea Smyrni. Social workers sounded the alarm when she began to leave the facility for extended periods.

Last Sunday, the girl left the institution at noon on Sunday, returned on Monday morning and left again on Monday evening, media reported. One social worker was told by the girl’s friend, also a minor, that the absent girl met a man in her 30s and was “walking” with him.

Social workers reported to the police that they found the girl in the car along with three men aged 29, 24 and 25. A study of the men’s mobile phones showed that the girl had been sexually assaulted, which was filmed on smartphones by three men arrested on charges of pedophilia and molestation of minors.

They dismissed the allegations, blaming the crimes of sexual abuse of a minor and pimping another, previously unknown 30-year-old man, who is currently being sought by police.

It is reported that the girl was abused in a hotel in the Metaxourgio area in Athens, where she received 100 euros from each client. The pimp reportedly urged the teenager to leave the institution and move with him to a house in Elefsina, in western Attica. He provided her with clothes and linen.

This is the second case of pimping a minor in Athens since August 2022, when a “respected family man” and leader of the district branch of the ruling party acted as pimp for a 12 year old girl. The investigation into the case appears to have stalled as out of over 200 customer contacts initially established on the victim’s phone, only 10-12 have so far been arrested. At the same time, judging by the testimonies of witnesses, among the clients there are not only ordinary members of the ruling party, but also MPs.
