In honor of the 202nd anniversary of the Greek Revolution, on the eve of March 25, a school parade took place on Syntagma today.
Students, teachers and professors took part in the solemn procession without any incident.
The traffic police installed traffic controllers on the streets around the center of Athens, and also closed the subway at Syntagma. Shortly after 12:00 the roads were reopened to traffic.
Wreaths were laid at the Unknown Soldier memorial by Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis and Attica Regional Governor Georgios Patoulis.
The solemn event was attended by high-ranking officials, party representatives and other officials.
