Tourist season opens on Andros

Andros Island has already opened the tourist season, following the plan for international promotion and extension of the season, announcing the creation of a tourism organization (Cycladic Tourism Network Of Andros, Κυκλαδίτικο Τουριστικό Δίκτυο Άνδρου).

The Cycladic Tourism Network Of Andros organized a “Natural Beauty and Gastronomy Day” with a focus on authenticity. The 1st day of the tourism event “Η Άνδρος των νερών και των γεύσεων” was one of a series of promotions whose main goal will be to promote the island as one of the leading tourist destinations in Greece.

“The Cyclades Islands are one of the most precious gems in the crown of Greek tourism. Andros can give a different flavor to what we call Greek hospitality. Some of the strategies that we have included for the coming years as the Ministry of Tourism are summarized in three words: stability, segmentation and quality. Andros with cultural traditions falls under all three provisions,” Deputy Minister of Tourism Sophia Zacharakis said during the conference.

Andros has the potential to support various types of tourism, as mentioned by the member of the Cyclades Parliament from ΝΔ Ioannis Vrutsis. “Andros is an island with its own unique features. It has beautiful high mountains, a primary production sector and the presence of artesian waters. Today, the island is “ready to spread its wings, soar high” and show its beauties to the whole world,” he said.

Cyclades MP Caterina Monogiou spoke about the tourism benefits of Andros: “The island has managed to maintain its authenticity. It has an extended road network and a very good production of local raw materials. I wish CTN Andros every success as this action supports tourism and our islands.”

ND Cycladic parliamentarian Philippos Forthomas is on the same wavelength: “Andros and its dynamic society have a lot to offer the country’s tourism capital from many sectors such as experiential tourism. He has a lot to give in this area and he still hasn’t. Congratulations on your initiative.”
