It is noted that during yesterday’s visit to the earthquake-affected region, Erdogan first uttered the word “sorry” for the government’s tragic mistakes in dealing with the disaster. “Due to the destructive force of the quake and bad weather conditions, we were unable to work as we wanted in Antiyaman for many days. I apologize for this,” Anadolu news agency quoted the Turkish president during his visit to the province.
Erdogan stated that “there has never been a country in the world that could recover as quickly as we did after facing a disaster that affected so many people in such a vast area.”
At the same time, he did not fail to make a pre-election statement, saying that about 50,000 houses would be built in the area, and work would begin as soon as geological surveys were completed. “I promise our people that by the end of the year, the wounds inflicted by the earthquake will have largely healed,” he said.
