Three Days of Clean Monday: Greeks "breaking free"houses and rooms are booked in 15+1


The Greeks decided to “break away to the fullest” in the next three-day weekend, enough (in their opinion) having been locked up in quarantine. It’s nothing that the last quarantine ended years ago, but the memory of how they were forced to sit at home is still alive in their restless hearts.

Many people (all those who can afford it, including financially) intend to leave the city in the three days formed in connection with the holiday. Although, of course, the majority will go to the village to their parents, if any (with a house “in the village”). But it’s not about them now.

Advance bookings are already over 90% on short-term rental platforms, and travel agents seem particularly pleased.

Popular mountain destinations, as well as cities with carnival traditions such as Patras, where pre-bookings reach 99.2%, continue to be of great interest to fans of domestic tourism.

According to an E-Real Estates survey, in Arachova, advance bookings for the three days of Holy Monday (24.02-27.02) now reach 93% (compared to 70% in mid-January). The total cost of staying for three nights ranges from €881 to €1700.

In Metsovo, the dynamics in the short-term rental sector is low. Now in the mountainous “village” of Epirus, about 92% of pre-bookings are registered (from 76% in mid-January). The cost of accommodation for three nights ranges from €423 for a residence of 40-45 sq.m.

In the city of Ioannina, advance bookings reach 98% (up from 85% in mid-January). The cost of staying for three nights has been increased and ranges from €700 to €1000. In mid-January, it ranged from €341 to €391 for houses with an area of ​​80–120 sq. m. m at a distance of up to 1.3 km from the city center.

In Kalavryta, pre-orders are up to 99% from 89% in the first two weeks of January. Asking prices for renting the smallest available property from 927 euros.

In Trikala in Corinthia, a place that has gained prominence in recent years, advance bookings for the three days of Clean Monday reach 94% (compared to 71% last month) and asking prices for renting an entire apartment or a single house reach even 1,200 euros per three nights.

Strong mobility is also recorded in the winter destinations of Arcadia Prefecture: pre-bookings in Dimitsan, Vitina and Stemnica reach 96%. The cost of staying for three nights in Arcadian destinations ranges from €378 to €697.

In Karpenisi, pre-bookings are 87% up from 72% in the previous period, and the cost of three nights varies from €447 to €571.

In Kalambaka, advance bookings are up to 94% today from 78% in mid-January, with three nights ranging from €353 to €635.

In Kalamata, pre-orders are as high as 65%. The cost of living for three days ranges from €166 to €348 for residences of 80-90 sq.m at a distance of up to 1.5 km from the city center.

Nafplion, a destination for all seasons of the year, records a 71% advance booking rate for the three days of Clean Monday. Short-term rental platforms (in the center and surroundings) have 304 properties. The cost for three days ranges from 201 to 400 euros for a property located up to 100 meters from the city center.

Nafpaktos now locks in a 90% pre-booking rate (up from 78% in the first two weeks of January). Asking prices for rental accommodation suitable for a family and/or a group of 4 people range from 234 to 540 euros for all three days.

In Kastoria, advance bookings are as high as 98%, with three-night stays starting at €427 for residences no further than 600 meters from the city centre.

Meanwhile in Trikala, Thessaly, pre-bookings are up 86% from 55% in the middle of the previous month. The cost of living for three days ranges from €353 to €578.
