Work continues at a feverish pace to strengthen and support the side slopes of the Isthmus of Corinth, as well as work on the installation of underwater support bases.
The ultimate goal is to meet the schedule for the canal to be reopened in early summer, making it safer for ships passing through it.
The pictures taken by Up Stories using a special drone with a powerful telephoto lens (zoom) are really impressive, since the size of the entire project is huge and has a high degree of complexity (directly “surgical”, as the experts involved in the work laugh). It is worth noting that the size and degree of complexity is comparable only to the creation of metro lines in Athens and Thessaloniki.
Interestingly, on the side wall of the canal, an inscription appeared in an unknown way: “ZAHARIAS”. It is still unclear who and why perpetuated the name in such an unusual way, writes dikaiologitika.gr.
