Roma robber arrested, who inspired fear and horror in the northern outskirts

The gypsy robber, who in recent months has inspired fear and horror in the elderly, as he “broke” into houses and, threatening with a knife, took away money and valuables, was arrested by the police of Western Attica.

The robber, a few hours before his arrest, on Sunday evening (12/2), together with three other gypsies, entered a house in Likovrisi, where an elderly woman was staying. He beat her and, putting a knife to her throat, demanded that she tell them where her money and jewelry were. As soon as the woman “broke down” and gave them the jewelry, the “quartet” got into a Scoda Octavia car and disappeared. An elderly woman, frightened and beaten, informed her relatives about this, and they, in turn, informed the police.

The Rapid Response Center immediately gave instructions to search for people, while the team ΟΠΚΕ (Crime Prevention and Combating Group) working in West Attica was also briefed. ΟΠΚΕ special teams went to the gypsy camps and areas densely populated by gypsies in their areas of responsibility, and a few hours later they noticed the car in question in the Agia Sotiras area in Acharnes.

After a coordinated pursuit, the man behind the wheel was immobilized. A knife was found on his front seat, with which he had threatened an elderly woman a few hours before his arrest. Arrested, known to the authorities for his delinquent behavior and released from prison in the last 9 months, confessed to the ΟΠΚΕ employees of his deed. After a thorough investigation, valuables were found and seized in the places indicated by the offender.

The robber, identified by an elderly woman, was taken to the Pefki security service, where his involvement in a number of robberies and thefts in the Peania, Penteli, Gerakas areas is being investigated.
