The new bill aims to speed up the work of the courts

The new bill will aim to speed up decision-making in the country’s administrative courts over the next four years by bringing them into line with European Union courts and eliminating pending cases.

At present, the average time for a case to be heard in administrative courts is over 1,000 days, or almost three years, compared to the average in EU less than 450 days. Some cases drag on for decades and often involve several generations of judges and lawyers. For the latter, such cases become a family business.

The bill also updates the justice system’s case databases and restructures the jurisdiction of the courts to avoid excessive inconsistencies in workload.
