“Barbara”: ban on the movement of heavy vehicles on the Athens-Lamia highway

The Attica Traffic Authority announced a ban on all heavy vehicles over 3.5 tons in both directions of the Athens-Lamia highway (in particular, on the section from the Kaliftaki bridge to the borders of the Attica prefecture) due to snowfall.

According to the traffic police, the decision to ban traffic was taken as a precaution. The announcement of the state of emergency caused bewilderment. The truck and bus drivers were unaware that a traffic ban had been in effect since 05:00 am, causing them to drive to the Kaliftaki Bridge, only to be turned back by the traffic police.
