Twitter EU wants to ‘squeeze’ TikTok: ‘We will apply sanctions if you don’t follow our rules’

After the “too much freedom” attack on Twitter, EU is also trying to “bend” the Chinese TikTok, since it cannot be controlled from Washington and Brussels.

TikTok must comply with the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) well before Sept. 1, EU Commissioner Thierry Breton told Internet giant Shou Zi Chew CEO.

“We will not hesitate to take the full range of sanctions to protect our citizens if the checks do not show full compliance,” Breton said. “The younger the public, the greater the responsibility. and sometimes even life-threatening content.”

In response, TikTok has stated that it is committed to the DSA rules while attempting to publicize its efforts to comply with all EU statutes such as the GDPR data protection rules and disinformation code of practice. “The safety of our users is paramount,” Caroline Greer, TikTok’s director of public policy and government affairs, tweeted.

With younger audiences comes greater responsibility.

Earlier, Elon Musk, in a short and exhaustive message, revealed what internationalist circles are striving for in order to dominate the planet, namely, to prohibit freedom of speech and expression so that the collective conscience is not mobilized against them. In particular, he said that “the media wants to control what you will know, and that is why citizen journalism is necessary.” He referred to the revamped Twitter, where each user can now freely upload their own news content.

Last December, the American edition of the Voice of America reportedthat Republican Senator Marco Rubio introduced a bipartisan bill to ban Chinese social networking site TikTok from American users’ electronic media. The reason is fears that the application can be used to spy on Americans, collect their personal data and spread misinformation.

New bill aims to ban any social media apps controlled by China and Russia or under their influence. In the House of Representatives, a similar bill was introduced by Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher and Democrat Raja Krishnamurthy.

As Elon Musk said earlier, the FBI repeatedly went to the Twitter office and forced them to remove information exposing Hunter Biden from the network.
