A 47-year-old man, a victim of a mafia massacre, a person well known to the authorities on drug cases and participation in a criminal organization, was killed in an ambush by unknown assailants in Kalamata.
According to police information, K.P. was at large with restrictive conditions imposed on him by the prosecutor. The attack, which police described as an execution, took place shortly before 11 a.m. in the center of Kalamata at the intersection of Hydra and Solonos streets.
The victim previously lived in America with his family and moved back to Kalamata a few years ago. Therefore, most people knew him by the name “American”. It is alleged that he was characterized by inappropriate behavior and was actively involved in drug trafficking. The reason for the execution is unknown. It is assumed that the “American” “climbed into someone else’s territory” or owed money to the local mafia.
